Project Background

Buy now, pay later (BNPL) is a type of short-term financing that allows customers to make purchases and pay for them over time. Merchants and retailers offer BNPL applications through their ecommerce websites, in corporation with financial institutions. ChargeAfter’s platform connects between merchants and lenders, creating a worldwide financing network.

My Role

I led the UX design and experience of the checkout product and it’s related features in collaboration with product managers and multiple development teams across the company.

Many BNPL services offer Interest-free installments without fees.

Good alternative to traditional credit cards due to the quick and easy approval process.

Increases consumer purchasing power by enabling them to make purchases they might not otherwise be able to make.

The Challenge
The Challenge

ChargeAfter’s eComm platform enables end-customers to apply and get pre-qualified for financing. The financing application is integrated as a part of the checkout experience on a merchant’s website. It’s designed to cater to the specific requirements and needs of each lending partner, ensuring a customized and tailored flow for every partner. Therefore, the challenge is:

Improve the experience of consumer application for financing to be easy to use, frictionless and visually appealing.

The updated visual design included modern typography and a high-contrast monochromatic color palette, which helped to elevate the overall look and feel of the product. With the implementation of these improvements, I was able to create a more user-friendly and visually appealing product that met the needs of the clients and their users.
